Typeface Design: Hoax

2018–2019

Development of a display typeface, “HOAX”, using Glyphs software. These letterforms are built with modular, triangular wedges and were based on initial pencil sketches.

I was invited to present the research and development of this typeface design project to the professional design community at the 26th Annual STA Design Inspiration Weekend, hosted by The Society of Typographic Arts, in Jan 2019.

“Hoax” was also published in Illustration Society Here (ISH), ”unfinISHed” Volume 1 No. 7, Juror: Adam Frommelt in 2018.

I plan to use this research to develop a Typeface Design course—offered as an elective and the course proposal is being developed.
